Welcome to our Training Page
Because RARO is made up of outdoor professionals from the 4 organisations that are part of it, there is a large amount of experience and knowledge already in place.
Training to keep current with new systems and old is critical to our safety and the safety of the people being rescued and RARO team members are expected to attend as many of the training sessions held each year as possible.
We train in skills including waterfall hole rescue, avalanche rescue, alpine search techniques and alpine cliff rescue.
The most important part of training is the social interaction with the other crew.
A detailed training calendar with all the training sessions over the next few months is available regularly.
